Get on Board Grant Program

What is the Get on Board Grant Program?

The Get on Board Program was created in 2005 to help cities and state agencies remove barriers that may prevent them from participating in the Master License Service (MLS). The Master License Service streamlines business licensing and registration by using one application, one payment, and one license.

Who can apply for a grant?

Any Washington State city or state agency may apply for a grant. This grant program is not available to individual businesses.

What can I use grant funds for?

The program is very flexible, since every city and state agency has different needs. If you want, we will help you identify what barriers exist. Typical uses for grant funds include:

  • Computer hardware and software.
  • Office equipment.
  • Temporary staff.

What criteria are used to evaluate my grant application?

We may consider the following when approving a grant application:

  • What constraints you face to becoming an MLS partner.
  • What technological barriers might be removed.
  • Flexibility within your internal infrastructure.
  • The scope of the project.
  • Your budget, including in-kind commitments and estimated transition costs.
  • Project management experience.
  • Potential cost savings.
  • Proposed performance measures.
