CLARB announces that several improvements will be made to the LARE examination beginning in April 2006. While the exam's format and content will change little from previous years, CLARB believes that the changes being made will make the testing experience easier and less stressful for candidates.
The graphic Sections C and E will now be shorter in length and will contain only four vignettes each. Candidates will now have an average of one hour and fifteen minutes to complete each vignette problem, which represents a 25% increase over previous exams. The level of knowledge and skill required to pass the exam is not changing; however, candidates should find that it will be easier to complete the vignette problems in the allowed time. These sections will continue to be administered in a pencil-and-paper format by the Washington Board.
